Graduates announced: The University of Oregon, Eugene, has announced its winter term 2014 graduation list, which includes the following Danville residents: Michael Scott Gailey, bachelor of science in general social science; Alexandria Marissa King, bachelor of arts in public relations; and Clinton James Roemer, bachelor of science in political science.

Scout earns Eagle badge: Alexander Casey Raines, of Troop 36, under the leadership of Scoutmaster John Abrendt, received his Eagle Scout award at his Court of Honor held Feb. 20 at St. Timothy's Church in Danville. For his Eagle project, Raines installed safe backpack hooks at St. Isidore School's Kids Konnection. The project consisted of 174 hours of fundraising, preparation and installation. He is the son of Kerry and Robert Rains, of Danville, and is a sophomore at De La Salle High School in Concord.

Year's Classified Leader named: Barbara Lee, director of campus catering for the Livermore school district, has been selected as Classified Leader of the year by the Association of California School Administrators, Region 6. She has worked behind the scenes making sure that the students have nutritious and healthy food choices and been instrumental in helping Marylin Avenue Elementary School win the USDA's Healthier U.S. School Challenge silver award. She will be recognized at the Region 6 awards dinner in June, and her nomination has been forwarded to the state level.
