The Oakland Strokes Rowing Club made the top of the podium eight times at the U.S. Rowing Southwest Junior Regional Championships at the Lake Natoma Aquatic Center in Folsom.
Thirty six crew clubs and 600 athletes from across the Western U.S. competed in the event.
The Strokes' Girls Varisty 8+ boat came in first place, taking home the gold for the second year in a row. Members of the team include Tara Bozzini and Olivia Klinkenberg of Acalanes High and Marie Johnson and Margaret Ross of Miramonte.
Oakland's Boys Varsity 8+ boat also came in first, beating their rival Marin Rowing by .04 seconds.
The Strokes came home with eight gold, nine silver and seven Bronze. Six of the top Oakland Strokes boats will now move on and begin preparing for Nationals next month at Lake Natoma.
