Several bombs went off Tuesday inside a school in the Syrian capital that activists say was being used by regime forces as a security headquarters. Ambulances rushed to the area and an initial report on state media said several people were wounded.
State-run news agency SANA says the explosions went off on Wednesday morning near the army command building. It says a fire has broken out in the area. There was no immediate word of casualties.
Ambulances were rushed to the site of the explosion near the landmark Omayyad Square and police have sealed off the area to traffic.
