An Amber Alert has been issued for a 14-year-old girl who may be brought through the Bay Area after she was abducted from Kennewick in southern Washington, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Elizabeth Romero was abducted about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the CHP, which issued the alert.

She is believed to be with Eduardo Flores-Rosalas, 19; police say Flores-Rosalas may be trying to take her into Mexico. It was not immediately known if the two know each other.

Romero is described as Hispanic, 5 foot 3 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark pants and carrying a backpack and a pink purse.

Flores-Rosalas is described as a Hispanic man, about 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. Police did not release a description of his clothing, but said he was last seen driving an 2001 to 2003 hunter green Ford Escape with a a roof rack, custom wheels and a Washington temporary registration sticker.
