Thanks to a $440,000 grant from the College Access Foundation of California, the Marin Education Fund will provide four-year college scholarships to 30 Marin County high school students from low-income households.
Each of the students is a graduate of the fund's Summer Application Institute at Dominican University in San Rafael and a participant in the fund's yearlong mentoring program.
"All of our students who attend the summer institute are the first in their family to go to college, or are following a sibling's footsteps," said Kim Mazzuca, president of the Marin Education Fund. "All have significant financial need, and all are bright and committed young people."
The Marin Education Fund is a nonprofit organization that aids low-income students in reaching and graduating from college by providing access programs, scholarships and support. For information, call 451-4005.
