Ross firefighter Mike Gutierrez sweeps absorbent material in an effort to pick up spilled fluids after a vehicle collision on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Ross.
A delivery truck overturned in Ross Tuesday morning, spilling diesel fuel and snarling rush-hour traffic on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

There were no injuries, but up to 50 gallons of diesel fuel spilled on the roadway and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard was closed for two hours, said a spokesman for the Kentfield Fire Protection District.

The Berkeley Farms delivery truck collided with a Volvo stationwagon and overturned on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near Berry Way at about 8 a.m., the spokesman said.

The fuel was captured before it entered waterways. Clean-up of the fuel and contaminated soil will continue into the afternoon, but will not affect traffic, the spokesman said.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
