A San Rafael man was unhurt last week when he was robbed at gunpoint by several FedEx co-workers, and two of the four assailants have been arrested, police said.
The holdup took place at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday in Pleasanton as FedEx driver Francisco Matute of San Rafael was making a delivery in the 4300 block of Hacienda Drive.
Police said four masked men armed with a shotgun demanded that Matute open the truck's rear cargo area. Two robbers jumped inside and took about 10 boxes, some of which contained Apple computer products. The men then drove away in a gold Buick, police said.
Jason Niusulu, 23, of Hayward, was arrested at about 10 p.m. Thursday at a FedEx facility in San Leandro where he works. He worked the same loading belt as Dominique Hamilton, 20, of Union City, who was arrested Wednesday evening on suspicion of taking part in the robbery.
Another delivery driver got the license plate of the getaway car, police said. That information led detectives to Hamilton, who was arrested as he was being dropped off at work in the gold Buick. A sawed-off shotgun was found in the car, police said.
Hamilton was arraigned Friday on charges of armed robbery and possession of an illegally modified gun.
