SAN PABLO -- An early-morning injury collision is slowing the westbound commute on Interstate 80, the California Highway Patrol said.
A collision was reported at 5:23 a.m. at San Pablo Dam Road, blocking three lanes of traffic, the CHP said. An ambulance was summoned, but information on any injuries was not immediately available.
A short time later, another car had to pull over to the side of the roadway after hitting debris from the first crash.
Two right lanes were blocked to allow access for emergency vehicles and for tow trucks to clear the roadway. Those lanes are expected to be cleared by 7 a.m.
