A 73-year-old San Jose woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a sedan on East Calaveras Boulevard this morning, Milpitas Police Department reported.
At about 8:10 a.m., Milpitas police and fire department personnel responded to a traffic collision between a vehicle and the victim near the intersection of Calaveras Boulevard and Carnegie Drive, police said.
The pedestrian was transported by paramedics to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition with several injuries, police said.
An 18-year-old Milpitas woman who was driving a blue 2000 Saturn SL1 four-door sedan, hit the woman and remained at the scene, police said.
Officers are still actively investigating the collision and seeking witnesses.
