BRENTWOOD -- A woman and a boy were seriously injured when they were struck by a vehicle Thursday night on Brentwood Boulevard, police said.
The pedestrians were in a crosswalk at Village Drive about 8 p.m. when a southbound driver traveling about 45 mph struck them, said police Chief Mark Evenson.
The victims, both Brentwood residents, suffered what Evenson called significant injuries and were taken by helicopter to a hospital. They are expected to survive.
Evenson said it appears the driver could not stop in time after seeing the pedestrians. The crash remains under investigation.
