BRENTWOOD -- An off-duty Brentwood police officer suffered a minor head injury after his patrol car flipped on Marsh Creek Road Sunday afternoon, said California Highway Patrol Officer Scott Cakebread.

Marsh Creek Road was closed between Deer Valley Road and Camino Diablo road for more than an hour beginning around 5 p.m. while authorities cleared the wreck.

Tom Trost, a neighbor who said he and his son were the first ones at the scene of the accident, said the patrol car had climbed up a muddy embankment on the side of a turn and flipped over, blocking one lane of the road.
