ORINDA -- A Southern California man was killed and his female passenger was seriously injured Saturday after the car they were traveling in collided with a tree, authorities said.
The accident was reported at 11:28 p.m. on Camino Sobrante approaching Orinda Way, Orinda police said. The driver died at the scene and the female passenger was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek in critical but stable condition.
The coroner's office identified the driver as 25-year-old Evin Totoro of San Bernardino.
Totoro and his passenger were leaving a wedding at the Orinda Country Club, said Sgt. Neil Rafanan of the Orinda police department.
Police are still investigating the crash and are awaiting autopsy results.
