LIVERMORE -- A 31-year-old woman was sent to the hospital with a broken leg Wednesday after she was hit by a car while riding her bicycle.

The accident occurred just before 7 a.m. in the 900 block of Bluebell Street, in front of the Springtown Branch Library in North Livermore, said Livermore fire Battalion Chief Jack Neiman-Kimel.

The woman was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley for her injuries, Neiman-Kimel said. After being hit by the car, she rolled up the hood and hit the windshield before rolling back off the car, he said.

Neiman-Kimel said he did not know if she suffered other injuries in addition to the broken leg.
