CONCORD -- An 11-year-old boy suffered a scare and some minor leg pain but was otherwise unscathed after colliding with a car while riding a bike on Clayton Road on Wednesday, police said.

The boy was crossing the street in the front of an apartment complex at Balhan Drive when a woman trying to pull out of the complex onto Clayton Road ran into him, Concord police Sgt. Jeff Crump said. Neither was moving fast when the accident occurred, with Crump saying the woman was going 5 mph "at the most."

The boy complained of pain in his legs and was accompanied to a hospital by his mother, Crump said. No further details on his condition were available, but Crump said the trip to the hospital was precautionary.
