CONCORD -- The Mt. Diablo school board on Monday expects to appoint four elementary principals and approve a facilities agreement for Clayton Valley Charter High School.

The board may also form a working group to consider making high school graduation requirements more rigorous and will review new courses in algebra readiness and human rights.

Although the board does not plan to discuss the district's budget, union members will be out in force to protest past cuts before the meeting. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the district office at 1936 Carlotta Drive in Concord.

More information about the meeting is available by calling 925-682-8000 ext. 4000 or by visiting http://esbpublic.mdusd.k12.ca.us. Click on May 21. For details about the protest, read the On Assignment blog at www.ibabuzz.com/onassignment.
