Vallejo police responded to two separate armed robberies at two different 7-Eleven convenience stores Tuesday night, both crimes presumably by the same man, Sgt. Jeff Bassett said Wednesday.

The first occurred at 10:23 p.m. at the 7-Eleven in the 1000 block of Magazine Street.

The suspect, described as a black male in his 20s, entered the store and appeared to be shopping, but when he got to the counter he produced a hand gun and ordered the clerk to hand over cash from the register, Bassett said.

About 16 minutes later, the same thing occurred at the 7-Eleven in the 2800 block of Georgia Street, Bassett said.

In the second incident, a suspect matching the description of the earlier one, entered the store, appeared to be shopping but then produced a hand gun and took cash out of the register, Bassett said.

Officers are reviewing security tapes at both stores in an effort to get a better look at the suspect, Bassett said.

The man may also be connected to a robbery of the 7-Eleven in Benicia in the 500 block of Military East, which occurred at 1:45 a.m. early Tuesday, Bassett said.

In that incident, a man entered the store, produced a hand gun and demanded money from the clerk, and also took the clerk's wallet.
