The Earthquakes have loaned reserve midfielder Jean-Marc Alexandre to Orlando City SC of the United Soccer Leagues Pro division through June 18.
Alexandre, a member of Haiti's national team, has had trouble breaking into the Quakes' lineup since arriving in a December trade with Real Salt Lake. He played in the Earthquakes two recent U.S. Open Cup matches but the team wants him to get more playing time before the start of the second half of the Major League Soccer season June 20.
The central midfielder will be with Orlando City for two games, starting Saturday.
"I've known Jean for four years," Lions coach Adrian Heath said on the team's website. "What I like about him is his physical presence. He can play in two or three positions. He'll be a big boost for us."
Alexandre said this week he was patiently waiting for his chance in San Jose but also understands it's not easy when the team is winning. The Quakes (8-3-3) are in second place in the Western Conference. They have a reserve game Friday at Chivas USA then will get a break until traveling to Colorado on June 20.
