ANTIOCH -- A faulty underground wire splice caused a power outage Friday night, affecting 6,340 customers, a PG&E spokesman said.
The equipment failure occurred around 5:45 p.m., spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
Crews repaired the equipment and power was restored to more than half the affected customers by 6:40 p.m., Guidi said.
All but 219 customers had their electricity turned back on by 8:34 p.m., and power was restored to the final set of residences at 4:54 a.m., the spokesman said.
No injuries were reported.
