MARTINEZ -- A 50-year-old man was sentenced to 514 years to life in prison on Monday for sex crimes against a 13-year-old girl in San Pablo.
Rickey Reed was on parole for drug and gun possession charges and living in a Richmond halfway house when, in May 2008, he lured the child into a house he was renovating for his father. Reed drugged the girl with methamphetamine before sexually assaulting her for hours, according to senior deputy district attorney Nancy Georgiou.
Reed was already a registered sex offender for the 1995 sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl.
A Contra Costa jury on June 1 convicted Reed of kidnapping and numerous counts of aggravated sexual assault and child molestation, as well as charge enhancements for substantial sexual conduct.
Judge Mary Ann O'Malley sentenced him to 19 years and four months in prison, and a series of consecutive life sentences totaling 495 years to life, Georgiou said.
