DUBLIN -- A suspect in a June 12 bank robbery in Dublin was arrested this week when he showed in court to answer to charges in an unrelated San Leandro petty theft case.
Raymond David Lopez, 29, of Tucson, Ariz., was arrested Wednesday in Hayward following his arraignment on the theft case, Dublin Police Lt. Herb Walters said.
Acting on a tip, police learned that Lopez had been arrested in San Leandro and was due to appear at the Hayward courthouse, Walters said.
Authorities responded to the courthouse while other detectives prepared a photo lineup for U.S. Bank staff, in which the suspect was positively identified as Lopez.
Lopez was taken to the Dublin Police Station, where he admitted to committing the U.S. Bank robbery, along with seven other robberies within California and Texas, Walters said.
