Oakley residents thinking about running for city council in the Nov. 6 election can file nomination papers starting this month.
The window of opportunity to submit the documents to the city clerk is July 16 through Aug. 10.
Three seats will be open -- those of Councilwoman Pat Anderson, Councilman Jim Frazier and Mayor Kevin Romick.
If any one of the incumbents does not file for reelection by 5 p.m. on Aug. 10, the nomination period will be extended to Aug. 15 for that seat only.
Candidates must be a registered voter and Oakley resident, and are encouraged to make an appointment with the city clerk in picking up filing papers.
The forms are available during business hours at Oakley City Hall, 3231 Main St.
