CONCORD -- A collision between a motorcycle and a big rig truck Friday morning left the motorcyclist hospitalized with major injuries, police said.
The collision was reported just after 6:30 a.m. at Port Chicago Highway and Arnold Industrial Way, according to police Sgt. John Nunes. The motorcyclist was on the ground and badly hurt, he said, and the truck driver was unharmed.
The biker, about whom no other information was released, was rushed to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek.
Police believe the motorcyclist was driving north on Port Chicago Highway and drove into the truck's trailer as the truck was turning left. However, the cause of the crash remained under investigation, Nunes said.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the crash is asked to call Officer Scott Delbo at 925-671-3220.
