OAKLAND -- Authorities are investigating the cause of a one-alarm fire at a two-story apartment building early Saturday morning, an Oakland fire official said.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters responded to a 1:40 a.m. call from a passer-by who noticed smoke coming from a building in the 1800 block of Rosedale Avenue near East 18th Street, said Battalion Chief Lisa Baker.
Firefighters used three engines to get the blaze under control in about 15 minutes, Baker said.
The fire apparently started on the building's second floor, she said.
No one lives in the home and no injuries were reported.
The fire caused about $80,000 in damage, she said.
The fire is under investigation but did not appear to be suspicious, Baker said.
