CASTRO VALLEY -- Two men were arrested after an armed robbery at a liquor store late Friday night, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
The pair -- later identified as Josue Benitez-Reyes, 20, and Andre Rodriguez, 19 -- walked into The Liquor Center at 22058 Center St. around 11:50 p.m., Sgt. W. Horn said.
One of the men pointed a handgun at a clerk and demanded cash, and the suspects drove away once they grabbed the money, Horn said.
Minutes later, deputies saw the suspects driving eastbound on Interstate 580 near Palomares Road, about three miles east of the robbery, Horn said.
Deputies ordered the suspects to pull over and they were taken into custody without incident.
The suspects, whose home addresses are unknown, were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to commit a felony, Horn said.
Deputies recovered the stolen cash and the firearm used in the crime.
