RICHMOND -- Police are looking for a pair of suspects who shot and wounded two people Sunday morning after asking them if they were in gangs.

The shooting was reported around 11:20 a.m. in the 1400 block of Costa Avenue, said Richmond police Lt. Bisa French. The suspects, two Hispanic males in a black Saturn, drove up to the two victims and asked them about their gang affiliation.

The victims told the suspects they didn't claim gangs, and the suspects opened fire, striking both people, French said. Both people are in stable condition and expected to survive.

Police are still searching for the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call 510-232-TIPS.
