BAY POINT -- A nine-year-old boy was shot in Bay Point on Saturday, a Contra Costa Sheriff's Office spokesman said.

Sheriff's deputies do not have the condition of the boy and said they were alerted only after staff at an area hospital reported the shooting, said sheriff spokesman Jimmy Lee.
