WALNUT CREEK -- Veteran Councilman Gary Skrel has pulled papers to run for City Council.

But even though Skrel pulled papers, he said Wednesday he remains undecided if he will run for yet another four year term. If the two-time mayor runs and wins it would be his fourth term.

There are three seats up for reelection in November.

The only candidate so far for sure in the race is Mayor Bob Simmons who is running for his second-term. He filed elections papers with the city clerk Wednesday.

Others who have pulled papers include Mayor Pro Tem Kish Rajan who says he plans to seek a second term, Contra Costa County Deputy District Attorney Barry Grove and Loella Haskew, a certified public accountant.

The deadline to file is Aug. 10 unless an incumbent chooses not to run; then, the deadline is extended to Aug. 15.
