ANTIOCH -- The city will host its monthly neighborhood cleanup from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the neighborhood near Antioch Middle School.
Volunteers should meet as the south parking lot of the school, which is at 1500 D St.
Volunteers will receive instructions at the site and cleanup equipment if necessary, Antioch police Capt. Steve McConnell said. The targeted cleanup area is within waking distance.
Neighborhoods that are free of trash and refuse are inviting, and a clean community instills a sense of community pride, he said.
Police will facilitate the event but are not assigned to help because of staffing cuts.
Neighborhood cleanups are scheduled the first Saturday of each month.
