FREMONT -- A 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a Fremont liquor store armed robbery that took place earlier this year.

The teen, who lives in Fremont, was charged with robbery and using a deadly or dangerous weapon in the commission of a felony during a hearing Tuesday at the Juvenile Justice Center in San Leandro, according to police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.

The heist took place the evening of Feb. 8 at Corner Store Market and Liquor, Bosques said. Two male suspects wearing dark-colored hoodies pulled over their heads entered the store at 40795 Grimmer Blvd. and one of them pointed a gun at a clerk, demanding money from the register. The second suspect grabbed money and the suspects ran out.

Detectives said they identified the 15-year-old as the suspect who pointed the gun and on July 6 the teen was subsequently arrested on suspicion of a separate unrelated burglary that took place in May at a Fremont residence. At the time of the arrest, officers said the teen had a loaded firearm in his possession.

In court Tuesday, authorities charged the teen with burglary in connection to the residential burglary and to the February liquor store armed robbery.

Police are now asking the public for help in identifying the teen's accomplice in the armed robbery. Bosques said that suspect was described as a black man, 5-foot-7, 130-150 pounds and wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
