BRENTWOOD -- Motorists on the Highway 4 bypass can expect delays next week as work continues to widen the road to four lanes and add onramps and offramps at Sand Creek Road.
Traffic will closed to one lane as the project contractor adds temporary striping and other traffic control devices between Lone Tree Way and Balfour Road, according to a Contra Costa Transportation Authority news release.
The one way traffic will be from 9 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.
The contractor will be performing one way traffic control and flagging operations, officials said.
Motorists are advised to expect some delays and allow extra time for their commute.
The $32 million project, which is expected to be completed by spring of 2014, will widen the highway from two to four lanes from Sand Creek to Laurel Road in Oakley.
