Soraya Duckworth's heart condition is so rare that doctors don't really know how long she'll live. She suffers from hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a rare defect that results in half her heart being underdeveloped.
Soraya recently traveled to Disneyland, a trip made possible by the Make-A-Wish Foundation Greater Bay Area. So far, with regular treatments, therapy and surgery, the disease is manageable.
But now Soraya and her family face another dilemma. "I just want to be able to have a roof over the kids' head," said her mother, Marlanea Duckworth.
Duckworth found out this week that she is facing eviction, due to the house she's renting entering foreclosure.
"I don't want to sleep in the van with the children," Duckworth said.
