Final "Concert at the Cove" on Friday night
The East Bay Regional Park District and the Rotary Club of Alameda will present the third and last Concert at the Cove for this summer from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Crab Cove, 1252 McKay Ave. Snacks, food and refreshments will be available at 4:30 p.m., when family activities will also begin.
The Battle of the Bands, which includes three musical groups, will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The event is free, and people are urged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
Raiders tickets will benefit USS Hornet
The Oakland Raiders will donate a portion of ticket sales from five upcoming games to the USS Hornet museum.
The first game will be 5 p.m. Monday, when the Raiders take on the Dallas Cowboys, while the second will be at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 2, when the team faces the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The other games are at 1:05 p.m. Nov. 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; at 1:05 p.m. Nov. 18 against the New Orleans Saints; and at 1:15 p.m. Dec 2 against the Cleveland Browns.
The Raiders also will provide the USS Hornet with score board recognition during the games.
The promotional partnership with the Raiders has raised more than $10,000 for the museum during previous years, according to Hornet CEO Randall Ramian.

Night work set on Park Street, Lincoln Avenue
Crews from the East Bay Municipal Utility District's are scheduled to work on pipelines at night between Aug. 20-24 at Park Street and Lincoln Avenue, according to city officials.
The aim of doing the work at night is to lessen the impact on traffic and nearby businesses.
