MARTINEZ -- Five candidates are vying for three seats on the Martinez school board, including a former member who stepped down just two years ago.
Incumbents Denise Elsken, John Fuller and Kathi McLaughlin filed paperwork by the Friday deadline to defend their seats in November.
In a surprise twist, Ron Skrehot -- who left the board in 2010 after serving eight years -- is making a bid for a comeback. Rounding out the group is Dena Betti, who came in fourth place with 11 percent of the vote in the 2010 election.
