OAKLAND -- As the family of a 16-year-old girl shot and killed last week prepare for her funeral Saturday, they have established a memorial fund for the teen's baby daughter.
The fund is called the Mai'lohni Turner Memorial Fund and it's been opened at U.S. Bank, said the victim's uncle, Brandon Turner.

Taiteanna Turner was gunned down outside Oak's Market and Liquor store in the 2700 block of Talbot Avenue at the corner of Foothill Boulevard at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. No arrests have been made and a motive has not been released by police. She was Oakland's 69th homicide victim of the year. Her baby is 8 months old and now in the care of family.
Taiteanna Turner's funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fuller Funeral Home at 4647 International Blvd. in Oakland.
