KENSINGTON -- Police are investigating a possible homicide after a call for a welfare check Monday morning turned up a resident whose death involved "suspicious circumstances," officials said.
The call came in about 11:55 a.m. Monday. Police did not immediately release the address or any more information about the circumstances of the death.
A person of interest has been identified, but is currently not in custody, police said.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of family. The case is being investigated jointly by Kensington Police, the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office, and the county crime lab.
