The fourth annual West County Expo, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday ¿at Tennent Avenue and Pear Street in Old Town Pinole, is a one-stop showcase and networking event for the local business community.
Admission and parking are free and so are the food tastings and raffles, as you explore what merchants have to offer, learn the role played by chambers of commerce, take in the classic cars and live entertainment and entertain the young ones at the bounce house.
The Pinole Chamber of Commerce is the host organization and will be joined by chambers from Crockett, Hercules, Richmond, Rodeo and the Hispanic business community.
WEST COUNTY NOTES: The final Music on the Main concert will be 5 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at the FoodsCo parking lot at Macdonald Avenue and 12th Street in Richmond. The event will feature West African fusion with Sekhou Senegal, energized Latin music by Alma Del Barrio, and soul music by Nicole "But-tah" Pearson.
Admission is free and the event will feature children's activities, community resource tables, a prize drawing and food and craft vendors.

The West Contra Costa County Salesian Boys & Girls Club has registered for the event on Oct. 20, and dining establishments La Strada and Revolucion are on board as restaurant week sponsors.

They include class of 1963 graduate Maria Emilia Lopez Fernandez from Montevideo, Uruguay and Makoto Ono, a member of the class of 1990 who will be coming from Japan.
"DeAnza's first football coach, Mr. Les Agnello will attend picnic and is hoping former athletes will be in attendance to celebrate the new Sports Complex at the rear of the campus," said Karen Mason, a Don alum and former teacher who is one of the organizers.
Those who want to attend can bring their blanket and picnic basket to the football field at De Anza, 5000 Valley View Road in Richmond any time from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
