HERCULES -- A suspected drunken driver was arrested after a hit-and-run collision early Wednesday morning, police said.
No one was injured.
A police officer had already made a traffic stop on Joe Montanez, 34, of Bay Point, about 12:36 a.m. at the intersection of Hercules Avenue and Titan Way when a dispatcher advised the officer of a call of a hit-and-run collision at a gas station on San Pablo Avenue, less than a mile away.
Montanez's white Cadillac matched the description provided by the caller reporting the collision, and a witness later confirmed that the car was the same.
Montanez was arrested on suspicion of hit and run, driving while under the influence and violation of felony probation. He was taken to County Jail in Martinez.
