WALNUT CREEK -- Police suspect that a person who crashed while driving a motorcycle on northbound Interstate 680 on Thursday may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the California Highway Patrol said.
A person was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence in the 10:15 p.m. wreck at the Ygnacio Valley Road off ramp, Officer Pete Van Eckhardt said. A man and a woman were taken by ambulance to John Muir Medical Center, he said. Police did not have an update on their conditions. It was not known who was driving the motorcycle.
Police directed traffic through the far two left lanes while rescuers tended to the injured persons, Van Eckhardt said. No other vehicles appeared to be involved in the wreck.
