CONCORD-- Service has been restored on BART after a potential fire at the North Concord/Martinez BART station shut down service between it and the Pittsburg/Bay Point station, a BART spokesperson said.
About 12:30 p.m., reports of smoke emanating from an electrical substation about 200 yards from the station prompted officials to halt service between the two stations, BART spokesperson Jim Allison said. The Contra Costa Fire Department responded to the scene and has contained what may have been a fire stemming from a mechanical malfunction.
