UNION CITY-- Authorities have identified the body of a man found in the grass at a city park Thursday morning, the Alameda County Coroner's bureau said.
Alvin Salinas Sr., 62, of Union City was identified as the man found unresponsive in Casa Verde Park by passers-by, the Alameda County Coroner's office said. Paramedics responded to the scene off San Rafael Way but were unable to revive Salinas, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Alameda County Coroner's Office has yet to determine if foul play was involved in the man's death, though the autopsy will likely lead to the cause of death, Union City police Lt. Ben Horner said.
"There was no obvious trauma," Horner said, "however a lot of the man's body was covered by clothing so once a coroner completes the autopsy we can figure out what happened."
