OAKLAND -- The High Street and 42nd Avenue northbound on-ramp to Interstate 880 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday through Friday as part of the Interstate 880 High Street Retrofit Project.
The closure will allow work crews to demolish the 42nd Avenue retaining wall along the on-ramp, according to a Caltrans news release.
To get around the closure, motorists are advised to take the High Street and Oakport Street on-ramp to southbound I-880, then exit at 66th Avenue and turn left to reach the northbound on-ramp to re-enter I-880. Other traffic along the freeway will not be affected, according to Caltrans.
