RICHMOND -- Fire ripped through a vacant home early Sunday morning, gutting the structure that was boarded up after a previous fire more than a month ago.
Five engine companies responded to the blaze about 1 a.m. in the 300 block of Beck Avenue near South Avenue, said Richmond Battalion Chief Manly Moulton.
"When engines arrived, the fire was through the roof," Moulton said. "It was totally gutted. The roof collapsed. Everything needs to be replaced."
Richmond and El Cerrito firefighters controlled the blaze in about 30 minutes, he said. No firefighters were injured.
The incident is under investigation, Moulton said. Anyone with information is asked to call 510-620-6989.
