FREMONT-- Multiple lanes of southbound Interstate 880 near Mowry Avenue are blocked after a solo motorcycle accident caused a collision between two other vehicles trying to avoid it, according to the California Highway Patrol.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene about 9 a.m. after reports of a motorcycle and multiple vehicles wrecked across multiple lanes, CHP spokesperson Zachary Hunter said. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with a possible broken hip and wrist, while the drivers of the vehicles were uninjured.
All lanes of southbound I-880 are expected to be open by 9:45 a.m., though the scene had not been cleared as of 9:30 a.m., Hunter said. Expect delays when traveling through the area.
