OAKLAND -- A 24-year-old man wanted in connection with a murder in West Oakland earlier this year remains in custody after he was arrested Wednesday night inside a home there.
Police are not releasing the name of the man or information on slaying for which he was being sought. They also did not release details about how he was located.
The man was arrested about 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Brush Street, police said. Police plan to present the case to the Alameda County District Attorney's office on Friday.
Police on the ground and in a helicopter started looking for the man about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and closed a one-block stretch of Filbert near West Street while the search was under way. All streets were reopened shortly after 6 p.m.
There have been 75 homicides in Oakland this year.
