OAKLAND -- A man was killed and a 7-year-old was grazed in the neck by a bullet in a double shooting Friday night in West Oakland, police said.
The name and age of the man were not released. The child is expected to survive, police said.
The shooting happened about 8 p.m. outside a home in the 700 block of Sycamore Street, police said. The boy was playing outside.
Police do not have a motive in the shooting. No arrests had been made Friday night.
The killing was the 77th homicide in Oakland this year. There were also 77 homicides in Oakland at this time last year.
