MARTINEZ -- At least one person was injured when a vehicle rolled over and slammed into an electrical pole Friday night, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers were still investigating why the vehicle flipped over. The wreck occurred at 7:58 p.m. on Alhambra Valley Road at Bear Creek Road.

The CHP initially reported that the person suffered major injuries but later amended that statement and said the driver was only moderately injured.

The power pole toppled over but did not fall into the street, the CHP said. PG&E crews were at the scene, and at least part of Alhambra Valley Road was expected to be shut down while repairs were completed.

Repairs were expected to last most of the night.
