OAKLAND -- The Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in March, is accepting nominations.
The Women's Hall of Fame honors extraordinary women leaders -- from trailblazers to unsung heroes -- who serve the Alameda County community with passion and purpose.
Supporters can nominate a woman they consider to be an outstanding leader in a dozen categories: business and professions; community service; culture and art; education; environment; health; justice; nontraditional careers; science; sports and athletics; philanthropy and youth.
The Hall of Fame luncheon and awards ceremony will be held March 23, 2013, at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Oakland. Funds raised at the event will support local organizations advancing social well-being. The deadline to submit nominations is Dec. 14.
