FREMONT -- A would-be arrest failed this morning at a restaurant in Fremont's Warm Springs District after a presumed live-feed surveillance video turned out to have a 20-minute delay, a police spokeswoman said.
The owner of Hong Kong Chef at 46356 Warm Springs Blvd. reported a burglary in progress at 3:08 a.m., Officer Geneva Bosques said.
The owner told police he watched two suspects on a live feed surveillance video remove the glass panel from the front door of the restaurant and head to the office, Bosques said.
Police responded immediately, Bosques said, but the suspects were not there.
Further investigation discovered the surveillance video had a 20-minute delay, she said.
Bosques said the suspects, who took $10,000 in cash, likely committed the burglary between 2:46 and 2:52 a.m. They were seen on video fleeing the scene in a dark sedan, she said.
No suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing, Bosques said.
