FREMONT -- Two men punched a gas station clerk, robbed the store and fled early Wednesday morning, police said.
The heist was reported at 3:57 a.m. at the ARCO gas station at 5012 Stevenson Blvd., said police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.
The clerk, who was not seriously injured, told police that two male suspects wearing dark hoodies entered the store and that one of them punched him in the face. The men stole several packs of cigarettes, Bosques said, then fled south on Blacow Road through a nearby church.
The victim suffered minor facial injuries, but did not require medical attention, Bosques said.
Police said the first robber was a Hispanic man in his late 20s, 5-foot-7, 190 pounds, wearing a dark hoodie and black pants. The second suspect was described as a black man, mid-20s, 5-foot-9, 170 pounds, wearing a gray hoodie and blue pants.
