Highway 4 drivers between Pittsburg and Antioch should expect some road closures next week as traffic is shifted to recently constructed road bridges at Somersville and Loveridge roads.
The contractor will be switching traffic onto a newly completed on-ramp from northbound.
Loveridge Road to eastbound Highway 4 on Tuesday night, according to a Caltrans news release. Work to change the road striping will require one eastbound lane off the highway to be closed.
Later in the week, westbound traffic will be shifted onto a new road bridge at Somersville, forcing periodical closures to all westbound lanes and several ramps in the vicinity. Work is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 6, Caltrans said.
Updated road closure information is available at http://widensr4.org.
